The Language of Flowers
The Language of Flowers aims to show the hidden meanings behind a range of flowers, popular in the Victorian era for sending secret messages I wanted to update it for the 21st Century. Each illustration was done with watercolour in 30 seconds in order to get the main attributes such as colour and shape across but still keep the illustrations quite fresh and loose. The illustrations are printed onto tracing paper to show their delicacy and a colour code was given to show how some flowers overlap. An accompanying poster sets all the flowers out so they can be compared easily.
